About
SolvedByAI is a directory of documented cases where artificial intelligence contributed to actually solving a problem. It exists because most writing about AI progress is either a press release or an argument — this is a list you can check, because every entry carries the primary source it came from.
Where the data comes from
Cases were harvested from real bibliographic sources — OpenAlex, arXiv and Crossref — by searching for work that describes an AI contribution to a concrete problem. Nothing here was written from memory or invented: each entry carries the abstract, the publication, the DOI and the authors it was taken from.
How entries are checked
Two stages. First, the entry must resolve against a real bibliographic record. Second, an independent model reviews the entry against that record and judges whether the evidence supports the claim; the verdict and its notes are stored with the case. Only entries that pass both stages appear in the directory — the rest are kept separately and never published.
What “verified” does not mean
It means the evidence in the source supported the way the case is described here. It does not mean the underlying result was independently reproduced, nor that the reported numbers are the best available. Where a source is a review rather than new results, the entry says so.
The importance rating
Each case also carries a 0–10 rating of how much the problem itself matters, with a rationale and a flag for whether the source states a scale. It is AI-assisted and rubric-based, not a measured quantity — the method and its limits are written out in full here.
Built on
Laravel and Tailwind. The database is refreshed from the source sheet every hour; the whole index is also available as markdown, and there is an RSS feed of new entries.
